2018 - Because I am

Because I am, has been a very successful  exhibition, organized by us and Squirrel Lodge nursery and curated by our atelierista Nadia Perrotta. The aim of the exhibition was to narrate the children's and educators' learning process, of self discovery as human beings as they find their unique identity and explore the world around them and the one of imagination, expressed through the arts.

We were proud to collaborate to a  unique project by the visual artist Lalita Bailey sponsored by the Department of School of Music and Fine Arts at the University of Kent. The process of the art project has been video documented in a short film by  Nadia Perrotta ( film maker and artist in residence in our atelier). The video has been selected for a major international exhibition Human Rights-EDU by AIAPI - UNESCO.

We received very nice feedback from the local press....

... and our exhibition went on tour ... we were invited to the Island Schools' Arts Festival in Sheerness

... and Because I am legacy  continues ... in July the video Because I am was also screened at x-24 Festival 2018 in X-church, Gainsborough.

Lalita Baileys 's paintings have been selected for the Turner Contemporary Platform prize and will be on show from the 7th of September until the 4th of November 2018 at Turner Contermporary in Margate.
